one step forward and two (or 3) steps back

her nurse just told me she's had a real rough day

she's got a lot of fluid build-up inside so

she's BACK ON the dialysis machine

she's not getting enough oxygen and gases

so she's BACK ON the ventilator

in her mouth and down her throat

they're testing samples, they don't know

if she's got an infection or she's

rejecting her new lungs

she's BACK ON heavy sedation and pain medication

and maybe tomorrow they will do a

'open chest' biopsy

that's another surgery to take a sample of her

lung to see what's going on


WHAT'S GOING ON?????????

'the ride' continues

i'm not getting all the information

her nurse was very hush hush this morning

acacia texted me that she's had bad 'couching spells'

and that one of her lungs has 'collapsed'

the nurse confirmed this and said they're checking

for an infection and that the ventilator is helping

she's in with the doctor and her mom right now


the nurse said that they've had to raise the

oxygen level on her and now she's resting

didn't get a good feeling

-the way the nurse sounded and dodged my questions


i know she's in good hands

-in more ways than one and that

this long long process will be long

but, more prayers please

i'll post you as soon as i know more

depressing day in pittsburgh

her nurse kim said that today she's a little depressed

a little teary and gloomy

so they gave her an anti-depressant

i don't like that

god love her

she's going through so much

they are having her breath on her own again all day today

that's good

but it's hard work


naturally, she deserves to be depressed

maybe it's like me (no more baseball)

i doubt it

god willing it'll pass soon

she's happy

another one bites the dust

wow

looks like maybe, just maybe

she's beaten yet another machine

this is big

her kidneys seem to be working better

and better

that's right

no dialysis yesterday, none today

maybe, praise god none ever, never

we'll see, your prayers are needed

but, would that be great, no more dialysis!!


i can't wait to see what god's going to do next!







red sox win the world series again? no way.

hangin' out on sunday morning

we've just been texting to each other

she texted me at 4am telling me her red sox won

well, i know that, i did'nt have to be waked-up to know that

-but it's so great getting ANY communication from her

so this morning we've been texting back and forth

she's just laying in bed watching tv and she sez

she's got her mask on

i think that means no breathing machine

just an oxygen mask ...so she's breathing on her own again

she sounds happy and refuses to root for the steelers


she's a strong young lady and she's always looking forward

she's been through so much but she's always ready to do it

and then move on

i believe she knows who's at the controls of her life

and is willing to take what comes because

she's always looking forward to a brighter tomorrow

lots going on

this nurse this morning was a wealth of information

she said they're getting ready to take another(longer)walk

and that she's off the vent tube again today

and that her kidneys are starting to work again

(little by little)

and that they are gonna start feeding her differently

because she seems to be able to handle it


she said they're working her hard

because they want to get her out of CTICU and get her upstairs

'upstairs?'

that's were the rehabilition really gets going

she told me so many things that will start to happen there

way too much to handle


this is a long long process

and everything is being done for acacia's best results

the nurses and doctors at this place are truly incredible

i wish you'd include them in your prayers
