the set back

this evening her nurse did say that since thursday

she's been more awake and aware

but they're draining lots of blood from her lungs

but the doctors are pretty sure that it's 'leftover'

from the surgery (TWO WEEKS AGO?) and not anything new

this nurse was great, he said she looks good

and is young and strong and will do fine

they are treating her with antibotics and her

fever is off and on and doesn't seem too too bad

also the cultures look negative for any other infections

so, over all...

keep saying your prayers

and thanks!!

pnew word: pnenumonia!

her mom just wrote me

"She still has a very high fever from the pnenumonia

but the good news is that there isn't a problem

around the lungs, just inside."

pnenumonia IN the lungs?

keep praying!

fully aware

it's like pulling teeth

getting information about my only daughter from these nurses

and her mom hasn't updated me since i last saw her

four days ago

but

her nurse told me this morning that she's sittin' up in a chair

(outta that bed, that's great!!)

and that this morning she's been 'fully aware'

i like that 'cuz she's been so zoned for so long

so her nurse said she's doing fine

that's all we can go with

that's good enough for me

i told the nurse to tell acacia that her dad called

i hope that's enough for her

THE NEXT STEP

in a long process of baby steps

-which she's taken so many so far

the next step is to take that breathing tube out of her throat

and have her breathing on her own

that would be a very big step

-say your prayers
