major step

well we got by (to me) a major step

today she had her first lung biopsy

doesn't that just sound scary

but she did fine, (results in a couple days)

afterwards she texted me again

and again it's about her red sox

after a little baseball banter, i asked how she's doing

she replied "I'm tired and any activiities kill me"

there you go -an update directly from her

she's so cute

and so strong and brave, just a brave little kid

(i mean young lady)

a little stand-up

yes, she's happy

and i'm happy too

the nurses said this morning she's doing real good

she knows the red sox won and

she STOOD UP to get in a chair next to her bed

wow

still has a low grade fever, but they're not worried about that

(not so much)

today they are taking her for a 'bronc'

-that's where they stick a long tube down her trach tube and

clean her lungs out

also they are going to do a biopsy of her lungs!!!

'the removal for diagnostic study of a piece of tissue from a living body'

they said that this is normal -about two weeks after a transplant

they go in a get some and test it and see if her body

is rejecting her new lungs

to me this is BIG, the nurse said

'it only takes a little while and have no worries'

...

keep saying your prayers

boston wins!

i bet she's happy

text message!

i just got a text message... -from my daughter!

you can imagine my elation!

what a feeling (and wonder) to be able to communicate with her

her first text said 'Sox won again'

she's talking about last night's game

i told her about game 7 tonight and how happy i was

that she had texted me

this will be great if we can continue this...

more teeth pulling

again this morning

it's like prisoner interrogation

-getting some information about my daughter

from the nurses that are taking care of her

i did find out that she has NO FEVER this morning

(so that's good)

and that she rested well last night

i know that pretty soon

i'll be able to communuicate with her

then we'll get the happy news

because she's always so positive

god love her

the set back

this evening her nurse did say that since thursday

she's been more awake and aware

but they're draining lots of blood from her lungs

but the doctors are pretty sure that it's 'leftover'

from the surgery (TWO WEEKS AGO?) and not anything new

this nurse was great, he said she looks good

and is young and strong and will do fine

they are treating her with antibotics and her

fever is off and on and doesn't seem too too bad

also the cultures look negative for any other infections

so, over all...

keep saying your prayers

and thanks!!

pnew word: pnenumonia!

her mom just wrote me

"She still has a very high fever from the pnenumonia

but the good news is that there isn't a problem

around the lungs, just inside."

pnenumonia IN the lungs?

keep praying!
